APC can’t win an election with a divided house –Aspirant

The Ekiti State All Progressives Congress APC governorship aspirant, Mr. Kayode Ojo, has appealed to members of the party to close ranks in order for the party to retain the state in 2022.

Ojo, who spoke in Ikoro Ekiti, in Ijero Council Area, on Monday, said the outcry that trailed Saturday’s APC ward congresses was uncalled for.

He said, “Ahead of the 2022 governorship election, the leadership of our great party needs to ensure unity among members. The APC will be doing itself a great danger approaching the poll with a divided house.”

He also advised that governorship aspirants should be given a level playing ground at the primaries, as he added “any attempt to impose unpopular candidates on the people of Ekiti would be a great failure”.

Ojo revealed that he has started consultations with party leaders and members ahead of the election.

The aspirant explained that his mission was to unlock the potential of the state through execution of laudable projects and programmes in addition to continuing with those of the Kayode Fayemi administration.

He said that the state has vast potential in industries, agriculture, mining, and education in addition to human capital, adding that the cargo airport being constructed by the Fayemi administration when completed, would be the catalyst for the state’s economic development.
